The YMCA of Brandon a charitable association dedicated to providing quality programs and services for all individuals in the development of “Spirit, Mind and Body.”
The YMCA of Brandon first began in Brandon in 1886. Our first YMCA building was built in 1905. The second YMCA facility was built in 1966, operating until August, 2013. The new Dood Cristall Family YMCA opened August 26, 2013.
The YMCA of Brandon operates two outdoor community pools: the Kinsmen Centennial pool and the Kiwanis YMCA Keystone community pool, in addition to the YMCA facility pool as well operates all of the city’s community paddle pools and spray parks.
The YMCA operates 4 child care centres within the city as well as Before & After School recreational child care sites at 13 Brandon Schools to help working parents.
Some of the many other Programs and services offered include:
- Financial Assistance for those who need it - the Y offers its services to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay
- Swim Programs - adult & youth swim lessons (included with membership), lifesaving programs, aqua fitness
- Aquatic Centre - 25 metre lap pool, recreational pool with a lazy river and spray features, waterslide, On-deck hot tub & steam room
- Facility Programs - birthday party packages, first aid / CPR programs, youth programs such as leadership training, youth sport programs, indoor play structure, cycle fit classes and yoga classes.
- Fitness Centre and Adult Fitness Programs - with a huge selection of cardio & weight equipment - 66 pieces of cardio equipment! Personal Training. Free fitness orientations.
