Labour Force

Brandon’s Labour Force is regional in nature and has proven to be extremely stable, committed and well educated. Totaling 58,000 and growing, the labour force is drawn from not only the city but the surrounding municipalities with as many as 21% of the labour force living in rural communities outside the city’s boundaries.

 

The combination of a well-educated and rural rooted workforce is a key strength of Brandon. As evidenced by the 83% of the population aged 15 years and over that have a high school graduation certificate or higher.  Post-secondary education institutions in Brandon include Brandon University, Assiniboine Community College and the Manitoba Emergency Services College which provide highly skilled people to Brandon’s employers year after year.
