Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot
On June 14th, 2019 the Government of Canada announced the City of Brandon was one of 11 communities across Canada approved for a new Immigration program. The program is called the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot, and Brandon is very excited to be part of the program.
At this time, the City of Brandon is not able to answer questions pertaining to the program. The application process and criteria has not yet been defined and will be developed over the coming months.
The new program will give rural employers the ability to directly select immigrants to hire in their businesses and will also give immigrants that meet the criteria, the ability to accept employment offers and make that community their permanent residence.
Brandon hopes to be in a position to begin accepting applications for the program in late 2019 or early 2020. Once the information is finalized it will be added to this page of our website along with the additional Immigration Resources listed below.
