I was denied a Brandon Community Recommendation, can I be reconsidered? | |
Effective March 4, 2024, Brandon RNIP Community Recommendation Decisions are final with no option for employers or applicants to request reconsideration when an applicant is denied a Brandon RNIP Community Recommendation.

Does my work experience need to be acquired within Canada, or can it be from my home country? | |
Applicants can qualify with work experience gained either within Canada or internationally. However, regardless of the location of the work experience, applicants will be required to provide documentation to demonstrate that their work experiences meet IRCC's qualifying work experience requirement. | |
I am currently working in Brandon. How do I begin my RNIP application? | |
Step 1: Ensure you review the IRCC requirements to confirm that you meet all necessary criteria. Step 2: Confirm that your job is a full-time permanent position with at least 30 hours per week of guaranteed work. Step 3: Request your employer to reach out to our office at immigration@brandon.ca. Step 3: Submit all required documents as listed on this Documents Checklist. If you are unable to provide the required documents on the checklist, you do not qualify to apply. |

If your employment falls within the Food Service Sector, please refer to the dedicated Food Service Sector webpage for specific instructions on how to start your application.
Please also note that Long Haul Drivers are not eligible for Brandon RNIP as the work occurs outside of Brandon’s RNIP boundaries. |

I graduated from a Designated Learning Institution in Brandon, am I eligible for RNIP? | |
Yes. You could also be eligible for an exemption from the qualifying work experience requirement if one of the following applies to you: work experience if:

I am currently on a student visa, can I apply? | |
Yes. As long as you meet the RNIP requirements and you are on a legal status in Canada, you can apply. | |
Can any employer provide a job offer? | |
No. Only businesses approved as an eligible RNIP employers can hire through RNIP. | |
Effective January 29, 2024, the Brandon RNIP program is not accepting Food Service Sector, Retail Sector, or Accommodation Sector(except for Accommodation positions in TEER 0 or TEER 1) RNIP applications. |
