Garbage Collection
Brandon has two types of refuse collection: Street Front and Back Lane. All residents are provided with two portable garbage bins, one with a black lid for household refuse and one with a blue lid where recyclables are placed loose. Residents can also receive a small kitchen collector for compostable items. The refuse bins need only be put out for pickup when they are full. Please remember not to overfill the refuse containers, as lids must be able to close.

Please remember to double bag all pet waste and litter.

Cut tree branches are permitted in the refuse container provided they are cut to fit and the lid is able to close. If you have purchased a previously owned home, the previous owner should leave the refuse carts with the house. If you are building or purchasing a new home please call the number below to arrange for garbage bins.

Brandon residential refuse is picked up on a 4-day cycle. To determine your pick-up day or to obtain a copy of the annual refuse calendar please call 204-729-2161 or visit Sanitation Routes.

Portable refuse and recycling carts must be placed at the edge of your driveway or back lane by 6 a.m. on your scheduled pick-up day and removed within 24 hours of your collection.
