Commuters are defined, for this report, as persons who live in one census subdivision and work in another.
Based on the 2021 Census data 86% of employed males and 92% of employed females in the City of Brandon live and work within the city (at a usual place, outside the home). Approximately 21% of people commute to Brandon for employment with a usual place of work.
An estimated 18% of males have no usual place of work, while only about 6% of females reported this place of work status. Only 10% of males and 5% of females who live in Brandon work in another municipality in Canada and an estimated 8% of males and 9% of females work from their home.
